Description: Fritz Lang's visionary silent masterpiece Metropolis, starring Alfred Abel, Brigitte Helm, Gustav Fröhlich, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, and Heinrich George. Metropolis is one of the most influential films of all time, forever establishing the future as a dark, morally ambiguous hell. One of the greatest technical accomplishments of all time, Metropolis creates a haunting atmosphere, with overtonesof despair and melancholy. A huge part of this is the brilliant cinematography. This is the pinnacle of the film movement known as German Expressionism. Feel free to comment; more on the way. All rights go to Kino International c.2003 |
