Si hace treinta años -cuando tuvo lugar la primera manifestación en apoyo a la comunidad gay- era «impensable luchar por los derechos de los homosexuales», ayer casi un centenar de personas acudió ante las puertas del Consistorio jerezano para escuchar la lectura del manifiesto Por la Diversidad Sexual, a cargo de Susana Domínguez, presidenta de la asociación JereLesGay. Posteriormente, junto a Margarida Ledo, delegada de Igualdad y Salud, y la alcaldesa, Pilar Sánchez, esta luchadora por los derechos de todo un colectivo izó de la bandera Arcoiris para recordar que el al 28 de junio es el Día del Orgullo Lésbico-Gay-Bi-Trans. Todavía queda mucho por hacer, e incluso «aún son muchas las personas que por tener una orientación sexual diferente -comenta Bibiana Ortega, asistente al acto- siguen siendo asesinadas, encarceladas y sometidas a discriminación». Pero también es cierto que, en la actualidad, los homosexuales han dado pasos de gigante para ser reconocidos social y legalmente. Y gracias «al trabajo de todos, se ha podido conseguir una sociedad más respetuosa y tolerante», destaca Susana Domínguez en su manifiesto, en el que también defiende que «los ciudadanos somos libres a la hora de elegir nuestra orientación sexual como modo de vida personal». La izada de la bandera y un amplio programa de actividades conmemorativas hacen visible la legítima reivindicación del movimiento lésbico, gay y transexual, por la libertad y el respeto a la diversidad sexual del ser humano. Sin embargo, existen ámbitos por explorar tanto en lo social como en lo legal. Por ejemplo, el factor educativo «debería» ser imprescindible para fomentar una «mejor sociedad», de manera que se empiece a inculcar en los menores unos valores enfocados al respeto y la igualdad. Según Susana Domínguez, una de la principales «barreras» se encuentra en este factor educativo y reclama -en su lectura- una educación laica. De igual manera, Susana insiste en que la Salud es un ámbito que aún discrimina y «exigimos una sanidad pública como un derecho esencial de los hombres y mujeres homosexuales y transexuales con el objetivo de que se haga cargo del proceso de rearticulación sexual de manera completa». Y, sin duda, uno de los principales temas diferenciadores en la sociedad es la discriminación laboral por la condición sexual de cada persona, por tanto «los poderes públicos -asegura Susana- tienen que asumir el cumplimiento de esta responsabilidad en el marco de la legalidad constitucional, impulsando espacios de libertad democrática y haciendo frente a cualquier tipo de agresión». En la misma línea reivindicativa, considera que el Foro de la Familia actúa de forma «dictatorial» por reestablecer el modelo patriarcal como único defendible, y, en este sentido, asegura «nosotros valoramos un concepto de familia no arcaico, en base al amor, entrega y respeto entre los iguales».
