because for some reason fraps was recording like shit, I guess because I had 2 torrents running at the time and my memory was being hogged, so I skipped it to keep the video from looking worse because youtube makes good quality videos look gross.

Hmm, your specs are almost identical to mine, but my 6800 is OC'ed. But, I still don't see how that could make such a drastic change. Try doing what I said, and if anything, lowering the settings a little won't hurt too much. It's still an amazing game, and like I said, it's optimized much better than Ep1.

Oh really? What are your system specs? You could look around online for HL2 tweak guides, those allow you to edit your config files to boost up better frame rates or downsample your audio to get better framerates. Try going into your audio settings and lower the quality and it should help ease out the lag.
