Description: This is an amusing and snappy little newsroom broadcast pasted together using various chromakey techniques. The music is a variation of the original BBC News theme and fits in quite well I think. You will see on the outtakes at the end, that my bluescreen lighting is actually rubbish! but with the help of the Garbage Matte masks, the uneven blue spots can be easily cropped out. I have since purchased some proper work-lights and a reflector. Also, the buzzing sound in the background of the newsreader scenes is actually my PC, I forgot to turn it off and the camera was close to it - I didn't realise until later (after I had packed all the bluescreen away!) - over all a good learning experience though! I'm using Adobe Premiere for the edititng. A good little tip here - if your "Chromakey" keying filter won't go right, combine it with the "bluescreen" keying filter as well (if using a blue-screen- obviously!) and it will help a lot. We're really limited for space where we do the filming, but as you can see you do not need a full camera frame of blue/green to be able to make it work. If you haven't already learned about the garbage matt masks - then do! They are really really simple to use and will take most of the nightmare out of your bluescreen troubles. Good luck & happy film making! |
