DrCharlesLee ::: Favorites 2007-11-07 18:18:53 Botox works in the jawline area, but not in the cheeks - Botox shrinks muscles not bone. One standard dose of botox will usually last about 6 months. Injections last longer with each subsequent dose - after the 4 or 5th time most people need injections once a year or so. __________________________________________________

purplerose143 ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 22:47:14 after the botox treatment is well over done will the jawline eventually go back to its original state? __________________________________________________
madyson3 ::: Favorites 2007-11-26 13:39:18 How effective is this, in your experience, for solving or reducing bruxim? __________________________________________________
DrCharlesLee ::: Favorites 2007-11-26 14:46:52 In my opinion it's the best treatment for bruxism. I use it myself - it lasts about 4-6mo per treatment. __________________________________________________
DrCharlesLee ::: Favorites 2007-11-26 14:48:21 It usually returns to the normal state, although people over age 45 can occasionally get shrinkage that may take a couple of years to return. __________________________________________________
purplerose143 ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 01:29:20 I have a question on the alternative method for jawline reduction. How long is the average healing time for jawline shaving? because i have a very prominent jawline and i believe it is mostly bone with also muscle. When does the bruising and swelling go down? __________________________________________________
DrCharlesLee ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 16:37:24 For surgical reduction, plan on about 14days, with continued improvement that goes on for about 6-12months. __________________________________________________
atican ::: Favorites 2007-12-01 20:03:36 It's awesome that you're responding to comments. I have bruxism, and combined with the fact that I only chewed on one side of my mouth for most of my life, I have a disproportional amount of muscle on the right side of my face. I'm told it's not terribly noticeable, but would I still be a candidate? Also, to have this procedure performed, should I go to a dental specialist or a plastic surgeon? Anyone in the Seattle area you could recommend? Thanks. __________________________________________________
DrCharlesLee ::: Favorites 2007-12-02 18:39:09 Your situation is very common. I have been treating this since 1999, and eventually worked out a dosing regimen that works well depending on the degree of the problem. Unfortunately I don't think there are many knowledgable doctors in any specialty right now. You can call around - I would start wtih an oral surgeon or a plastic surgeon with an interest in oral surgery (maxillofacial surgeon). __________________________________________________ |
