rfvdmeer ::: Favorites 2008-01-25 07:16:17 I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Gnomes can still be played; if you're going to play 4th Edition, you'll need that Monster Manual anyway. It just means they'll take a less prominent place in the game. So what? I'm looking forward to 4th Edition, and if it isn't what I want, I can always stick to 3.5 Edition anyway. Seriously, stop making such a fuss and try it before you knock it. __________________________________________________
FoxtrotNinja ::: Favorites 2008-01-24 20:31:24 I knew adam phillips did the animation from the very beginning! __________________________________________________
heathwilder ::: Favorites 2008-01-24 08:33:10 That's what core is though. Rules for N00bs. There are no end of Tiefling players in 3e and there will be no end of Gnomes in 4th. You're all experienced D&Ders. Use those skills and play a Gnome or a freaking hobgoblin or whatever. (Badger should have been DIRE though doncha think!) __________________________________________________
boilerplate ::: Favorites 2008-01-24 06:55:50 I think it's due to the newbies populating the hobby nowadays. In 2nd edition, it was all drizzt fanboys who jumped on the D&D bandwagon when the Icewind Dale books came out and they all demanded to be Drow. Now it's punks who play DDO or NWN and want to be planetouched. It's a shame, because I had a half dozen Gnome characters, my most used race. (Two monks, a fighter, a sorc, a ranger, and a cleric) 6 of my characters must now retreat to lairs and have badger minions? This is progress? __________________________________________________ |
